Background of the organization
It was the 18th May, 1992, when a group of professional, technocrats and social activists joined hands to promote a welfare organization which first rolled its wheels as a vocational training institute for empowering youths to enhance and promote livelihood development program to uplift the standard of living of the poorest of the poor and at the same time to provide basic health care support to the remote countryside to attain a society where the downtrodden section of our population shall walk hand in hand with the affluent and participate in the country’s social, economic technological and cultural march into the new millennium.
In the Year 2015-16 one of our most significant achievement is that we became funded partner of National Skill Development Corporation and we shall initiate courses under Health Sector Skill Council
We also became the training provider of UTKARSHA BANGLA – a initiative of Paschim Banga Society For Skill Development. Government of West Bengal.
The organization became Skill knowledge provider by central board of secondary education to conduct vocational training in Allied health science for CBSC affiliated School in West Bengal.
We became project implementing agency under the Ministry of Minority Affairs Goverment of India and implemented project like Nai Manzil and Seekho Aur Kamao for the state West Bengal and Union Territory Andaman and Nicobar Island.
The organization was able to achieve such heights due to the dedicated efforts of its sincere staff and the practical visions of its group leaders and the co-operation of the various Govt. departments which promote these welfare activities.
In the forth coming year we are nurturing the dream to enhance the radius of our field of operation and the quality of work at the same time to cater more people to attain their basic needs .Finally I would like to conclude by thanking my staff, all our associates and the common man whose faith has inspired us to work harder.

On ground Implementation
During training we give adequate hours of class room teaching and practical session. Starter classes caters to the very basics of teaching, special attention for weaker students, topical aptitude test after every class, extensive doubt clearing with personal attention, customized group discussion and Personal interview program, including audio visual aids for post selection interviews.
We have seven vocational training centre across West Bengal where we have good infrastructure for conducting different courses in Medical & Nursing sector under MES under DGET. In all the Centers we have permanent Registration number from DGET, Govt. of India.
In SSMT subject-wise trainers are recruited by a selection committee of the organization following advertisement in the leading newspaper.
Society for the School of Medical Technology conducts Emergency Medical Technician training under the affiliation of Healthcare Sector Skill council and other paramedical courses in collaboration with centre for Vocational Studies – Aliah University. Moreover we conducts various need based livelihood development training program under different Govt. sponsored schemes like Kishori Shakti Yojana, Swarna Jayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana, Swarna Jayanti Sahari Rojgar Yojana etc. We also conduct vocational training courses under the sponsorship of West Bengal Minorities Development & Finance Corporation.
At the beginning of each of the training session the students are giving pep talk on what to expect out of the subject / likely job opportunities and remuneration /working hours/the present job scenario.
During post training session the students are made to fill up forms giving their residential and educational details so that the same could be communicated to the recruitment authorities with which we have tie-up. Later the respective authorities conduct one-to-one interview at their own place and some time few authorities conduct campus interview at our place for recruitment.
We maintain a permanent help desk through which we provide suggestions regarding different scopes of entrepreneurship, preparation of project proposal obtaining relevant license, knowledge on equipment purchase and subsidy provide under different Govt. scheme.
